Registration Guidelines & Fees

It is a requirement of the new Education Law 2016 for a parent or legal guardian of any child of compulsory school age to be registered and enrolled in full-time education suitable to the child’s requirements either by attendance at school from the first day of the school calendar or otherwise as provided in Part 4, Section 16. The following guidelines set out the new requirement for registration and transfer of students in schools.

Entry to Government Schools
Priority for admission to Government schools is assigned as follows:

Nursery Program at East End Primary School: 3 years old before 1st September.

  1. For Caymanian children who live in the catchments of North Side and East End.
  2. Caymanians with proof established by an official letter issued by Work Opportunities & Residency Cayman (WORC) acknowledging the child’s right to be Caymanian.
  3. Twenty (20) spaces available.

Reception Program: 4 years old before September 1st.

  1. Caymanians with proof established by an official letter issued by Work Opportunities & Residency Cayman (WORC) acknowledging the child’s right to be Caymanian.


Primary – Secondary: 5 years old before September 1st and children older.

  1. Caymanians with proof established by an official letter issued by Work Opportunities & Residency Cayman (WORC) acknowledging the child’s right to be Caymanian.
  2. Dependents of Caymanians with proof established by an official letter issued by Work Opportunities & Residency Cayman (WORC) acknowledging the child’s right to be Caymanian.
  3. Dependents of contracted government employees (Space permitting following the close of registration)
  4. Dependents of permanent residents (Space permitting following the close of registration)
  5. Other – Children approved by WORC for entry to government schools (Space permitting following the close of registration)

School Fees

The following fees apply to non-Caymanian residences (all fees are in Cayman Dollars Amount):

Primary School Students
Years 1- 6
Term 1 - (August - December)
CI $250.00 per term
Term 2 - (January - April)
Term 3 - (April - July)
Lower Secondary School Students
Years 7 - 9
Term 1 - (August - December)
CI $300.00 per term
Term 2 - (January - April)
Term 3 - (April - July)
Higher Secondary School Students
Years 10 - 12
Term 1 - (August - December)
CI $400.00 per term
Term 2 - (January - April)
Term 3 - (April - July)

Parents will receive an invoice from the Ministry of Education each term advising them of the fees to be paid. The first invoice will be sent to parents at the end of September.

Fees are to be paid at the Treasury Department located at the Government Administration Building on Elgin Avenue.

Admission Notice

Please note that the 2022/2023 Registration period closed on 28th February 2023

Important Dates:
March 1st, 2023 – Standard Student Registration Period Opens
The Standard Student Registration process will open this year on March 1st, 2023

May 31st, 2023 – Standard Student Registration Period Closes
Standard Registration Period will open on March 1st, 2023 and close on May 31st, 2023

June 30th, 2023 – Late Student Registration Period Closes
Late Registration Period will open on June 1st, 2023 and close on June 30th, 2023

Please note that any applications received between July 1st, 2023 through August 6th, 2023 will be processed the week commencing August 7th, 2023
